Meet Jerry Stroud!

You've heard excerpts of his story, but we wanted to share more of his heart with all of you. As we recently wished him a happy birthday, we also thank God for his life and testimony. Reaching another birthday sober, let alone just alive, is a gift that the addict knows more intimately than the average human. We hope you'll listen and praise God for Jerry's life with us!!

September 1st, 2024, marked eight years sober for Brad Hatley, our Director of Discipleship, here at Converting Hearts Ministries. He wanted to share his heart with you today in hopes that God would be glorified through his testimony.

It's always a struggle to encompass a man's whole life story and future trajectory in a time short enough for the public to digest, but we do our best to give you the broad view, placing emphasis on how great our God is. One thing that always remains true is that the main character of every testimony shared is the Lord. We wouldn’t want it any other way. Danny found CHM at his lowest, came into a transforming relationship with Christ, and has stayed the course for two and a half years, not only sober, but living a life ambitious to be pleasing to Christ. We sure are encouraged by Danny, and we know you will be as well.

When Joey Reece came to us, his marriage and family were in shambles. Kathy Reece vulnerably shares from the perspective of a hurting wife of an addict, along with their son. Hear their testimony of hope as they share how they went from brokenness to restoration, only through the transforming power of Christ!

Seeking the eternal instead of the temporal.

We promised we would share more of Sam Wilson’s heart, and we can’t think of a better time than on his birthday. Sam communicates what he has come to know is THE KEY to sobriety, while tearfully expressing that he shouldn’t even be alive today. As we wish Sam a happy birthday, we can’t help but see the gospel on display. What a beautiful testament of Gods grace and mercy.

Addiction is not only devastating to the individual, but also the family and the community. We feel so incredibly blessed to help these families both physically and spiritually. Witnessing true transformation and restoration is a gift, but we know that we ARE NOT ABLE to do God’s work without help. We rely on God to provide the means necessary for us to continue helping the “Joe and Erika’s” of the world and He has continually provided through YOU! For that, we are very thankful and we want you to see the real faces of the people you are giving towards.

August 31st is National Overdose Awareness Day, and although every day feels like this for us, we cannot stress enough how much awareness is needed.
