Wayne Edwards Board Chairman & Co-Founder | Chief Executive Officer

Wayne, along with his father Carlton, founded Converting Hearts Ministries for Addicted Men in 2007.  He holds a Master’s degree in accounting from East Carolina University and has been a certified public accountant since 2007.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 little children, playing softball and has been called to helped the addicted since 2005.

Carlton Edwards President | Thrift Store Manager

Carlton started Converting Hearts Ministry for Addicted Men in 2007 along with his son Wayne.  Prior to Converting Hearts, Carlton served on staff at Bethel Colony of Mercy and he served many years as a plant manufacturing manager and project manager in the commercial construction industry.   He has been called to rescue men and women from addiction since 2006 and enjoys playing softball and spending time with his family.

George Johns ~ Interim Director 

Dr. Sam Williams ~ Counseling Consultant

Dr. Williams, Ph.D, is a Professor of Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.  He has over 30 years of addictions counseling experience with 10 of those years in the residential setting.  His love and passion for sharing gospel oriented counsel leads him to Brazil several times per year to train others in sound biblical counseling principals.  Dr. Williams is married and has 4 children.


Stephen Shannon Director of Programming

Stephen currently works as Director of Programming within our resident ministry.  His passion for ministry and pursuing Christ is evident as he walks alongside the men in residence at the Aiken Farm.  Stephen currently attends Seminary in pursuit of his Masters and is excited about being a pastor and ministering with life on life ministry.  Stephen has two daughters, Samantha and Brianna.

Charlie Russell ~ Operations Manager 

Charlie is well known in the Converting Hearts Ministries community as well as the addictions recovery field in North Carolina.  He is a former resident and intern here at CHM.  He also served for nearly 2 years with NC Oxford Houses in the greater Raleigh area.  In the fall of 2015, Charlie returned to Converting Hearts to continue his passion.  He is thrilled to be a part of the ministry.  He has a teenage daughter, Madison, and enjoys spending time with her as often as possible.
